Itinerary details
Between Vicenza and Padua are the Euganean Hills, a place rich in natural beauty which boasts a winemaking tradition of respect: a short path leads to the discovery of the best producers of natural wines of the area.
Considering that the convenience of the place than the presence of toll highways is a favorable factor, suggest you begin (or end) the route in Monselice, where there is an exit of the A13 Bologna-Padova.
Right off the highway you will be going to the Castle of Monselice, a monumental complex between the castle, the fortress and the villa, which houses among other thing a library and a museum of Rarity.
Going north along the edge of the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills for about 5 kilometers away is the farm Lispida Castle, housed in the same manor, and on, among others, you can try AMPHORA, 100% Tocai (vinification of Dolia terracotta buried).
While if you get to the west near the town of Baone, in full Park, where stands the farm Vignale Cecilia, where it produces a sparkling wine with natural fermentation in the bottle, which is worth to be tasted to compare it with the classic product valdobbiadene fermented in an autoclave.
At this point, continuing to follow the edge of the park counterclockwise, after passing through the ancient town of Este, where you can admire the Cathedral Abbey of Santa Tecla and the famous Castello Carrarese, you get to Vo ', where we suggest to make a stop at the winery At Amalfi Filippo Gamba which produces red, white and sparkling wines, all of excellent drink.
A very scenic road, with which you will leave behind the Euganean (or meet them in front if the drive along itinerrio in the opposite direction) takes you to the north west to Sossano, at the southern foot of the Berici, where you can make a stop at the 'Elvira company, which produces red strictly natural great body.
A stage to deserve no doubt the farm Pialli, producer of an excellent Barbarano (Tai Berici reserves, produced in the "cru" of Barbarano Vicentino), although this will force it to take a little detour to the right when you get Sossano.
Going straight to Alonnah meets the company of Daniel Portinari and its excellent red wine.
From Alonnah leads quickly to Lonigo, and from there it continues north to quickly reach Gambellara. Here you will find David Pinning and La Biancara of Angiolino Maule, founder of VinNatur, which annually promotes the event dedicated to natural wines of Villa Favorita in Monticello Fara. Both of you will be able to taste their white wine made from Garganega grapes, vine grown on volcanic soils characteristic of these areas, from Gambellara towards Soave.
Continuing to the east to reach Montecchio Maggiore, and from there go up to the Estate Harmony, in Location Bernuffi, to try its wines and its Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In addition to availability, because the place is not easy to find, it is recommended that a phone call.
From here it will not be difficult to go back down to the Montecchio Maggiore toll booth on the A4 Venezia - Torino (for those coming from outside).
