The festival dedicated to Vernaccia di San Gimignano returns for its fourth edition, celebrating the historic "White Queen" in her homeland: a weekend filled with tastings, masterclasses, widespread events and entertainment.
Following the success of last year's edition, which welcomed around 1,500 wine lovers, Regina Ribelle – Vernaccia di San Gimignano Wine Fest will take place again from May 30 to 31, 2026. The festival, devoted to Tuscany's renowned white wine, is organized and promoted by the Consorzio del Vino Vernaccia di San Gimignano in collaboration with the Comune di San Gimignano.
The 2026 edition carries special historical significance, marking the 750th anniversary of the first documented reference to Vernaccia di San Gimignano and the 60th anniversary of its DOC status. While rooted in centuries of history, this edition aims to engage with contemporary audiences, renewing the narrative of the denomination through languages, experiences and content designed to resonate with today's consumers and wine enthusiasts—who are increasingly attentive to identity, authenticity and a strong sense of place.
The program will feature a rich calendar of events spread throughout the historic center of San Gimignano: walk-around tastings, themed masterclasses, meetings with producers, and workshops focused on food and wine pairings, in dialogue with Tuscan gastronomic excellence and the offerings of local restaurateurs. Cultural insights and entertainment will also be part of the experience, including an evocative evening DJ set in the enchanting setting of the Rocca di Montestaffoli.
As every year, the public days will be preceded by two press-only days—May 28 and 29—dedicated to national and international media, featuring the presentation of new vintages, conferences, and tours of local wineries.
