The Market, the Leper Colony, the Roman Camp.
And then King Herod surrounded by his lavish court, skilled stilt walkers, fire eaters, and jugglers; shepherds guarding their flocks; artisans hard at work in their shops; washerwomen, merchants bustling at the market, and innkeepers ready to fill patrons' cups. Finally, the Nativity scene on Via dei Granari, just steps away from Piazza Duomo.
The medieval quarter of San Martino will provide the backdrop for the new edition of the Living Nativity of Tarquinia, coming alive with performers on December 26 and 29 and January 6, 2025. On Epiphany, the event will reach its most celebrated and spectacular moment with the arrival of the majestic Three Kings' procession.
Along the route, as tradition dictates, visitors can enjoy bruschetta with the exquisite local olive oil, roasted chestnuts, and wine, while watching shepherds at work crafting fresh cheese.
The gates open at 5:00 PM, and tickets are priced at 5 euros. Children under 10 enter free of charge.
Supported by the Lazio Region, the Province of Viterbo, and the Diocese of Civitavecchia–Tarquinia, the event is organized by the Living Nativity Association of Tarquinia, with the backing of the Municipality of Tarquinia and in collaboration with the San Martino District Committee.
