A symbolic event of oil tourism in Italy, Frantoi Aperti in Umbria will offer visitors, again this year, the opportunity to experience the oil mill in progress, witnessing the production of new oil and immersing themselves in these places which have become multifunctional which, while maintaining a spirit faithful to tradition, show a growing attention to design innovations and, above all, an increasingly marked propensity for hospitality, which precisely on the occasion of Frantoi Aperti finds the ideal moment to express itself at its best, in fact every oil mill during the month of Frantoi Aperti will propose initiatives for adults and children to approach and learn about the olive tree, extra virgin olive oil. and the traditions connected to it.

New this year will be: the opening event of Frantoi Aperti, scheduled for Saturday 28 October, organized in collaboration with FIAB Umbria, YouMobility - sustainable mobility marketplace and Ciclostorica la Francescana "La Grande Pedalata Lungo la Fascia Olivata of the Assisi Hills - Spoleto", an oil tourism itinerary by bike and e-bike along the cycle paths that cross the spectacular piedmont landscape of over 40 kilometers in which the cultivation of the olive tree, fitting harmoniously into the natural context, has contributed to the centuries to shape the environment by creating a "living cultural landscape" (for information www.lagrandepedalata.it); the "Tour of the Giant Patriarchi Olive Trees in the Typical Amerino territory", an itinerary that connects the iconic places of the Amerino territory linked to the cultivation and culture of extra virgin olive oil, which will lead to a visit to the hill of centuries-old olive trees Rajo di Montecampano in Amelia, passing through ancient oil mills, modern oil mills and the world collection of "Olea Mundi" olive trees from Lugnano in Teverina; and walks for children among fairy tales, olive trees and oil mills with the "WalkActress" Loretta Bonamente who will involve the children in telling stories about trees, olive trees and oil, and then accompany them on a visit to the oil mills of the circuit for a snack based of bread and freshly pressed oil.

The five weekends of Frantoi Aperti will then follow one another with a full program of initiatives which, despite seeing the mills and extra virgin olive oil at the center of the spotlight, will offer visitors a varied range of experiential possibilities, in the name of walks and of naturalistic trekking, artistic itineraries and the discovery of the architectural beauties of the medieval Umbrian villages and knowledge of the vast agricultural, food and wine heritage of Umbria, without neglecting the sphere of music and recreational entertainment.
In fact, the following will be proposed: #CHIAVEUMBRA | IN NATURE - Artistic experiments in the Olivato Landscape", historic spin off that has been accompanying Frantoi Aperti for 10 years now, focused on the language of contemporary art, organized by Palazzo Lucarini Contemporary, which will offer new and experimental access keys to the Umbrian territory, nature and the human-environment relationship.
