"Biennale Enogastronomica Fiorentina 2014" - Food and Wine Festival in Florence

It kicks off in Florence on November 10 2014, and it'll last for 21 days. It's the fourth edition of the Biennale Enogastronomica Fiorentina, a grand festival that will animate some of the most renown artsy public spaces of the world. Its calendar is full of food and wine events. The Biennale Enogastronomica Fiorentina, designed by Confesercenti Florence under the artistic direction of the journalist Leonardo Romanelli, was created to enhance the traditional Florentine cuisine and its typical products.
During the 21 days events will alternate in clubs, restaurants, plazas and palaces of Florence, for a full calendar of festivals, shows, flee markets, tastings and dinners which will transform the city of the lily into a beautiful venue en plain air of food and culture.
Each edition will take place in settings of undoubted beauty: the charming nineteenth century greenhouse in the tepidarium of the Roster, in the Horticultural Garden is the perfect backdrop to many events on the calendar.
Among the many events Life of Wine is certainly worth a visit. It's inspired to the concept of "wine and time" and revolves around the tasting of vintage wines.
God Save The Wine, will instead offer a tasting of wines paired with local culinary excellence. Bubbles of Tuscany is a tribute to companies that carry both the classic method of sparkling wines and the Charmat method. Florence Wine Event is wine and beyond and presents also the excellency of olive oil and culinary delights.Kitchens Road is a tribute to the Italian and international food and good Italian artisanal beers with exhibitors from all over Italy and even abroad.
The flee market of the Biennale will embrace Piazza Santa Maria Novella and offers a selection of excellent food, wine and crafts from Tuscany and beyond. An then Elba, a unique opportunity to learn about the island off the coast of Tuscany.
Among the many initiatives there is also the delicious Cream of the Biennale where ice cream is the undisputed protagonist with some of the most famous masters gathered in the Florentine Gelato Artisans.
The best Florentine restaurants are involved during the whole events, some of them will prepare recipes related to the culinary tradition of the town, in many cases very hard to find.
It's a full calendar that does not forget solidarity though with a charity event organized by Caritas Florence for those in need at the Hotel Florence.
IPSSAR Buontalenti will prepare of a special lunch for the guests of the mass of SS. Annunziata whereas a charity dinner specifically held to raise funds for the commercial activities of the city of Genoa severely affected by the recent floods.
