Montefalco (PG)

Montefalco (PG)

Montefalco, province of Perugia, city of wine, Sagrantino, but also of oil, has been included among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, it is located on top of a hill overlooking the plain of the Topino and Clitunno rivers: for this reason it is also given the name of "terrace on Umbria" or "railing of Umbria".

There are many events throughout the year that celebrate the products that give prestige to this land. In August on the night of San Lorenzo with "Sagrantino sotto le stelle", or in September with the decades-long tradition of "EnologicaMontefalco", an exhibition dedicated to the great wines of the Montefalco area, including excellent gastronomy, culture of good living, tastings, trekking between rows and olive trees and workshops. Space for Sagrantino also dedicated in February for the Sagrantino preview.

Wine, oil and gastronomy are certainly not the only reasons to come to know this splendid village. The city walls with its doors, the Piazza del Comune with the thirteenth-century Palazzo Comunale, the many historic churches, the sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella and the castle of Fabbri, a few km from the city, and, of course, the splendid 360 panorama ° are just some of the many attractions for a visit dedicated to "slow" tourism.
