Castelraimondo (MC)

Castelraimondo is a town in the province of Macerata in the Marche region. The village celebrates Corpus Domini every year with a traditional infiorata that takes place between Saturday and Sunday.

The symbol of the city is the Cassero, or the watch tower, 37 meters high, built around 1300, as part of the defense system of the city of Camerino called the Intagliata. It was a line of towers, moats and walls built by the Da Varano lordship for a stretch of 12 km from Pioraco to Torre Beregna.

Castelraimondo is located in the Marche sub-Apennines, at 307 m a.s.l., on the left side of the Alta Valle del Potenza. Surrounded by greenery and vast wooded formations, the landscape of the surrounding hills is also designed by vineyards and olive groves.

The most suggestive moment to visit Castelraimondo is precisely the weekend of Corpus Domini. The uniqueness of the Castelraimondo Infiorata lies in the fact that the floral paintings identify a real tourist circuit, accessible through a special map, which runs through the streets and squares of the town. An intelligent way of avoiding gatherings and, at the same time, enhancing the Marche location. It will also be possible to taste traditional pasta based on ancient grain flours, gnocchi with duck, porchetta, crescia col ciauscolo and other delicious specialties.
