The ancient medieval village of Erice is located in Sicily, in the province of Trapani. In the past, for a long time the small village was known with the name of Monte San Giuliano. Today it is also called Mount of myth due to the mythological origin of its name: Erice was the son of Aphrodite and Bute.

The village contains a piece of history already visible from the ancient walls that protect the plateau on which it stands, testimony of the military engineering works of the past.

In Erice you can visit various points of interest such as Porta Trapani, Torre di Re Federico, the Cyclopean Walls and the Castle of Venus. Another destination for many tourists are the Balio Gardens which frame the castle. The historic center of Erice has a medieval imprint and winds through narrow streets populated by characteristic shops.

Erice hosts the "Ettore Maiorana" International Center for Scientific Culture and for this reason it is also known as the "city of science".

Among the events scheduled in the village, the "Festa FedEricina" is of particular interest, a historical re-enactment of the arrival in Erice of Frederick III of Aragon, King of Sicily, and of his wife Eleonora, an event that generally takes place between the end of May and early June. In the middle of summer, on the other hand, you can participate in the traditional Sagra del Panino ca sasizza roasted in Ballata, a small hamlet in the municipality of Erice.
