Friday, August 29, 2014 kicks off one of the longest-running events linked to the wine of the province of Benevento: the Wine Festival, now in its XXXIV edition. The Wine Festival is also gastronomy, history, culture and music and is the second highlight of the summer the local food and wine tourism. It starts on August 29 with the opening toast in Market Square at 18:00, followed by the contest of tasting (by reservation), edited by the sommelier Gaetano Goglia, a workshop approach to the tasting of wines produced from Barbera grapes and from Falanghina Sannio. The covegno is a forum, a comparison, a starting point for reflection on the importance of the new stands that will be used for the type of wine "Barbera del Sannio"; Sanbarbato is the wine that represents the soul with its characteristics and dedication to the work of this population and also evokes the saint's deeds Bishop of Benevento, a native of the town, known for putting an end to the witches' Sabbath rites, along the river Saturday, and for having converted the Lombards to Christianity. Everyone, be it producer, farmer or an ordinary citizen can identify with a glass of this wine. The territory continues to be a leader in all three days with paths in the tufa cellars where you can taste the best local wines and learn about the producers; with guided tours of the vineyards and countryside of Castelvenere (by reservation); with a track event organized by Panathlon. The race is entitled "On the paths of San Barbato - podismo between faith, history and vineyards" and passes through some of the country's districts and in particular the places of Veneri Vecchio, the historic vineyards and the paths through which the faithful went to the place of birth of the Holy: the sense is to connect the theme of the whole party to the importance of personal care, mens sana in corpore sano, thanks to healthy wines. In addition to wine tasting is on the path of the festival is also a trade show of the best food and handicrafts Titerno. From the gastronomic point of view it is interesting to the event "The snack of the winemaker", Sunday, August 31 at 13:00, during which you can eat the typical dishes that the peasants were carrying the "bundle" during the working days in the fields. In all evenings also the meeting point for lovers of traditional dishes, rigorously Km 0, is Piazza S. Barbato. In the same square starting from 22:00 free concerts are planned: August 29 the Makardìa; August 30 the Ztiklez; August 31 the Little People Paranza. The music and the show does not end here because in the tufa cellars street you meet the soundtracks of Gianluca Bufis and its "Wine Stories". The choice is clear as well with Borgojazz for the Castelvenere Wine Festival focuses on artistic quality. Last but not least, is planning a "Aperitif in the vineyard" organized by AgriBlogger and the Forum of Young Castelvenere, an event that revives castelvenerese vineyard via Italy with a different appetizer and rural Aug. 31 at 19 : 00 and that testifies to the desire of young people to actively engage and create interest around the youthful world of agriculture.
