The event, dedicated to the most delicious and beloved sandwich of the Apulian town, is organized by the Gourmet Eventi Association of Alberobello, chaired by Luigi Giliberti, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Alberobello and the Puglia Region.
At this free-entry event, as per tradition, you can taste various versions of the Pasqualino Sandwich offered by the stands, competing for the coveted "Pasqualino Gourmet Gastronomic Event Award".
The gastronomic fair will also feature excellent craft beers and live music concerts, with performances by seven bands.
THE STORY OF PASQUALINO
Around the late 1950s, thanks to the intuition of Pasquale Dell'Erba, a dynamic and eclectic delicatessen owner, the Pasqualino sandwich was born, a typical sandwich of Alberobello. Simple and tasty, innovative in its composition, it became particularly popular among young students of the time, to the point of becoming an excellence of Alberobello, handed down through generations of delicatessen owners. Research, conducted through documented testimonies, has defined the original recipe of the Pasqualino Sandwich: rosetta/turtle bread, tuna, capers, salami, and sweet stretched curd cheese. The Pasqualino Gourmet Association, while fully respecting tradition, aims to continue to enhance the Pasqualino and reinterpret it in a gourmet way.
