Vallerano is preparing to shine once again with the sixteenth edition of the Notte delle Candele, an event that brings culture and romance to the heart of the picturesque town with ancient Etruscan origins.
When the sun sets on the horizon, a spell comes to life: the residents of Vallerano adorn their homes and the surrounding spaces with original and personal scenography, lighting flames that transform into suggestive and mysterious shapes. Along a path shrouded in an aura of mystery, both inside and outside the ancient walls, local, national and international visitors are invited to explore unique places and immerse themselves in an atmosphere of sharing under the silvery light of the moon. The evening is enriched by enchanted melodies, brushstrokes of paint that come to life, photographs that capture the essence of the moment, theatrical performances that tell ancient stories and audiovisual works that enchant the soul.

Traditionally set for the last Saturday of August, the event will take place on August 31, 2024, with entry to the historic center permitted from 6 pm until late at night or until the (physical) energy of the participants is exhausted. The theme of this edition, "Once upon a time", reawakens ancient legends and forgotten stories.
The Notte delle Candele Association of Vallerano has planned an even more complex series of initiatives this year that will have as their theme "Once upon a time", the subject of the photography competition open to all participants in the event. In fact, in addition to the evocative installation composed in every corner of the town directly by its inhabitants, you can admire, from the first stars of the evening until late at night, a series of continuous performances - including theater, art and music - in every corner, square, stairway, courtyard of the historic center.
With 100,000 candles and thousands of spectators expected, the Notte delle Candele confirms itself as one of the most beloved cultural tourism initiatives in Lazio.
