DiVin Ottobre blows out twenty candles this year, returning with a rich calendar of events spread across all five weekends of the month. Organized by the members of the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino, the festival celebrates autumn in its most authentic guise: golden light, intense aromas, enveloping flavors and landscapes set ablaze by the colors of the foliage. Unmissable experiences reveal the territory through walks in the vineyards, guided tours and tastings designed to engage every sense.
At center stage are the major seasonal events that unfold weekend after weekend, each highlighting a different corner of Trentino with varied and engaging programs: La Vigna Eccellente in Isera, Vallagarina; DoloViniMiti in the Val di Cembra; Reboro Territorio & Passione in the Valle dei Laghi; Incontri Rotaliani in the Piana Rotaliana; and Autumnus in Trento, where the many initiatives include the much-loved Aperitivi Narrati. Each appointment curated by the Strada focuses on the region's most representative wines paired with a typical local product, served either in its natural state or reinterpreted by the creativity of talented local chefs.
Complementing these are celebrations of iconic regional specialties: the Festival of Freshwater Fish and Frantoi Aperti in Alto Garda; the Pumpkin Festival and Chestnut Festival in Valsugana; and the Sagra della Ciuìga, dedicated to the traditional Slow Food–protected salami of San Lorenzo Dorsino. Autumn flavors also shine in Brentonico, Vallagarina, with mountain markets, demonstrations of ancient crafts, traditional aperitifs and family activities. Chestnuts, pumpkins and a touch of magic appear not only outdoors but even in the greenhouse, with a day of games, entertainment and tastings scheduled for Sunday, October 26 at Vivai Brugna in Trento.
Original, atmospheric events return on multiple weekends. Acquarelli in cantina offers on-site sketching and watercolor sessions amid the vines—turning the beauty of the landscape into art while sipping local wines—every Saturday from October 4 to 25 at various Vallagarina locations, from Cantina Mori Colli Zugna to Borgo dei Posseri, Azienda Agricola Vallarom and Cantina d'Isera. Art and flavor meet again on Friday, October 3 and Friday, October 17 at Agraria di Riva del Garda, where watercolorist Marina Francesconi guides participants in creating works inspired by Alto Garda wines, oils and other products, followed by a tasting.
History, culture and exceptional wines also take the spotlight with a special visit to the Franciscan Friars' Convent in Mezzolombardo on Saturday, October 11, celebrating 30 years of Clesurae and concluding with an exclusive vertical tasting. More "sips of culture" come from Apt Rovereto e Vallagarina's original pairing of cultural tours and wine tastings: Friday, October 10 at Castel Beseno, October 17 at FAI's Castello di Avio, October 24 at MITAG – Italian Historical War Museum of Rovereto, and October 31 at Rovereto's Museum of Science and Archaeology, where the focus will be on plants and climate change.
Many initiatives blend outdoor activities with local product tastings. A Terragnolo tra trekking e sapori invites exploration of this hidden Trentino gem every Saturday and Sunday, combining suggested hikes with a flavorful final stop. 100% Nosiola (October 3–5 and 10–12) proposes various routes through the Valle dei Laghi on foot or by bike, ending with a cozy cellar experience. And Divin Autunno Lagarino, curated by Vivallis, pairs a leisurely trek among the Destra Adige villages—Nogaredo, Isera and Villa Lagarina—with tastings.
Guided tours with tastings are offered every Friday at Cantine Mezzacorona for Espressioni di Teroldego, and every Sunday at Cantine Endrizzi in San Michele all'Adige for Divin Teroldego. For something different, Innesti Restaurant in Pergine Valsugana hosts a special Autumn Brunch on Saturday, October 18 and an Autumn Afternoon Tea with live music on Sunday, October 26.
