Lombardy, the largest region in Italy, is the ideal destination for a weekend or a longer holiday dedicated to wine tourism due to the variety of its territory and the presence of some DOC and DOCG wines of absolute excellence. The most famous are perhaps the Garda area in the Brescia area, where the much appreciated Lugana is born, Franciacorta, one of the greatest expressions of classic Italian method bubbles, in the area of Lake Iseo, Valtellina with its great red wines, and Oltrepo Pavese, a land of Pinot Noir mostly used for classic method sparkling wine.
