Tenuta Prima Pietra

Tenuta Prima Pietra

Located in Riparbella, on the Tuscan coast, Tenuta Prima Pietra extends on a hill overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and covers 200 magnificent hectares, 11 of which are dedicated to vineyards and the rest covered by woods. Prima Pietra is characterized by the height of its vineyard, 450 m a.s.l., the highest on the Tuscan coast, and by the soil, rich in skeleton, ferrous clays and Gabbro. The estate has a single vineyard with south / south-west exposure, vines with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The constant breezes coming from the sea guarantee important thermal excursions, which are decisive for the aromas and for a gradual ripening; guarantee of absolute balance of the wine. The vines are trained in Guyot, the fertilizations are organic, with green manure and the use of self-produced compost. The working of the land is manual, as well as the pruning and harvesting of the grapes.

At the guide of the cellar is Cecilia Leoneschi, an oenologist with a great personality and few compromises. The wine produced is Prima Pietra: 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot. The average annual production is around 40,000 bottles.
