Sarnano (MC)

Sarnano is a village in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region, which rises at the foot of the Sibillini Mountains, and is part of the "I Borghi più Belli d'Italia". Sarnano is also the Orange Flag of Touring, and is a renowned holiday resort, with enjoyment in all four seasons. The fascinating "treasure chest" of the medieval old town, the surprising waterfalls, the ski facilities and many bike and trekking routes make this town a real capital of fun and relaxation in the open air.

Among the most characteristic gastronomic products is Ciauscolo, a Roman-era salami with the curious name probably derived from the word “cibusculum”, which in Latin means small food. A true icon of the Marche gastronomy, it is obtained from finely chopped pork, flavored and subjected to a long seasoning period that preserves its characteristic softness intact. In September you can come across the "Festa del Ciauscolo e del salame spalmabile".
