Novara di Sicilia (ME)

In the province of Messina there is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. We are talking about Novara di Sicilia, a village with ancient origins. It is also called the Stone Town due to the strong link with the rough rock, which has remained alive over time thanks to the inhabitants who pass down the skill of the stonemason from generation to generation.

The panorama is truly impressive, dominated by the Rocca Salvatesta, a spur of rock that reaches 1200 m s.l.m. The village houses several religious buildings, the oldest is the Church of San Francesco.

Among the typical local products, the Maiorchino di Novara di Sicilia certainly deserves a mention, a hard Sicilian cheese produced with whole sheep's milk.
