Castello Quistini

Castello Quistini is a historic residence from the 1500s with a botanical garden, located in Rovato, in the province of Brescia, not far from both Brescia and Bergamo, south of Lake Iseo, in the lands of Franciacorta. It is undoubtedly a pleasant destination for everyone, thanks to the perfect mix of history, nature, architecture and botany.

About ten years ago, thanks to the ideas and commitment of the owner family, a series of gardens were designed within the walls of the building with collections of ancient and English roses ready to bloom between the end of April and the month of May, special varieties of hydrangeas and peonies, ancient fruits and small vegetable gardens with collections of medicinal plants. With over 1500 varieties, it is one of the gardens with the most important collection of ancient, modern and English roses.

Open every Sunday and holidays starting from the end of April, with the entrance ticket you will have access to the tour entitled "Among roses, history and legend" (guided tour) which aims to be a historical journey through the gardens of the house: flowers, plants, gardens and botanical collections will accompany you through the gardens for a walk.

The most spectacular blooms occur in the month of May, after the first seasonal blooms of Viburnum Opulus and Carlcephalum, Clematis Armandii, tulips and various varieties of fruit trees.

The tour of the gardens is enriched by some mysterious objects hidden in nature: animal figures made with recycled materials emerge from the water of the pond or among the rose bushes and will accompany you on this magical itinerary.
