Cantina Conte Vistarino is immersed in a vast estate in the municipality of Rocca de' Giorgi, in Oltrepò Pavese. In the historic estate, woods and vineyards alternate, most of which are dedicated to Pinot Noir.
It was the year 1850, when Count Augusto Carlo Giorgi of Vistarino planted the first Burgundian cuttings in Italy on his Rocca de Giorgi estate, revealing the predisposition of the Oltrepò terroir for the maximum expression of this vine, difficult both to cultivate and to be vinified. Cantina Conte Vistarino is immersed in the Rocca de Giorgi estate, which includes the eighteenth-century Villa Fornace with its immense English park, an early medieval fortress guarding the ancient commercial transits, an architectural cellar reserved for the vinification of the finest bottles and last, but extremely important, almost 200 hectares of single-body vineyards inserted in a spectacular natural oasis.
The Vistarino farm boasts a total surface area of 826 hectares, which occupies 80% of the municipality of Rocca de' Giorgi: 640 hectares of woods, meadows, arable land, woody trees, and 188 hectares of vineyards, distributed patchy over the entire company area.
Summer 2021 - Aperi-bike
Conte Vistarino's formula for enjoying the summer in Oltrepò Pavese with taste and freedom.
The heart of the property is the new cellar, a treasure trove of technology and beauty where all the company's wines take shape. The cellar itself will be the point of departure and arrival for those who want to explore the area, on foot and without filters.
An e-bike, a tablecloth, two glasses, a bottle by Conte Vistarino and a basket of delicacies to accompany it. At the start, at the Enoteca, you can choose your favorite variation of Pinot Noir from the rosé Maria Novella, the Classic Method Saignée della Rocca, the Pinot Noir Costa del Nero and Saint Valier, Pinot Noir vinified in white.
In the basket, instead, there will be the flavors of the Oltrepo': the salami of Tizzo, the delicious cheeses of Boscasso, and then bread and breadsticks from the Casa Monache bakery and also a taste of extra virgin olive oil from Tenuta di Roscetti.
Everything is put together in a wooden box, where the bottles of wine usually find their place, hooked up to the electric bicycle.
And while the box is being prepared with everything you need, you can visit the cellar and find out how the wine that will soon be uncorked in the vineyards is born.
Four routes are recommended and highlighted on a map, but it won't be difficult for e-cyclists to discover new enchanted corners. Once you have enjoyed the aperitif and admired the sunset against the background of the steep Oltrepò Pavese hills, Conte Vistarino recommends continuing the exploration of the area at the table, perhaps in one of the many gourmet restaurants in the area, where traditional dishes and the desire to amaze will make the evening unforgettable.
The Conte Vistarino aperi-bike experience is available only by reservation and for a minimum of two people.
Price: 65.00 euros per person.
