Bugnara (AQ)

In the province of L'Aquila, not far from the famous city of Sulmona, we meet Bugnara. Considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and a city of oil since 2007, Bugnara is part of the Peligna Mountain Community. Strolling along the streets, among the stone houses attached to each other, you can see the medieval character of the village, marked by typical elements such as doors, architraves and railings. The highest part of the town is dominated by the Palazzo Ducale, also known as "the Castle".

The most representative local gastronomic product is Pecorino di Bugnara, to which the Cheese Festival is dedicated at the end of June, during which you can watch the cheese being made according to the ancient method of the Bugnara shepherds.
