Wine, music and astronomy: "Riflessi di Stelle" at Cantina di Venosa. On 9 and 10 August 2024, the Vulture wine tourism event returns after three summers.
Wine tastings and stands of typical Lucanian products, to the sound of music under the starry sky. The most popular wine tourism event in Vulture, organized by Cantina di Venosa (Pz), one of the most important and awarded cooperative companies in southern Italy, is now in its 11th edition.
The Sicilian comedian Giovanni Cacioppo and the young musical group 4 for 41, from Venosa, will open the event on Friday 9 August. On Saturday 10, instead, the highly anticipated concert by Enzo Avitabile and the group I Bottari di Portico.
The program of Riflessi di Stelle 2024 includes two master classes led by AIS on volcanic wines, with a comparison between reds from Etna, Taurasi from Vesuvius and Aglianico del Vulture from Cantina di Venosa.
Last year, over 5,000 tasting glasses were sold per evening.
Entrance to the event is free, but to freely taste the wines at the tasting counter, a €10 ticket is required, which includes a bib, glass and three labels to taste. The tastings can be paired with street food in Lucanian and Apulian sauce, at the various stands: the "strazzata", a bread with Cancellara black pig mortadella and Lucanian pistachio; cod and crusco pepper from Senise; gourmet local panzerotti; typical desserts and, from this year, also ice creams inspired by the wines of Cantina di Venosa, Aglianico, Merlot, Moscato and Malvasia ice cream.... read more»
Many wines from Cantina di Venosa at the tasting counter: the three Verbo labels (white, rosé, red); the white D'Avalos (100% Malvasia); the red Terre di Orazio Aglianico del Vulture Dop; the Terre di Orazio rosè and the bubbles of Virgola Brut.
"Last year was a great return, after the Covid break, and everything leads us to hope that now we will far exceed the attendance. The shows, the artists and the food and wine offering are of a high level and quality, as always - comments Francesco Perillo, president of Cantina di Venosa -. The large participation of the public in recent years also demonstrates, on the other hand, the roots and attachment to the territory and its community of winemakers of our cooperative winery, a company that the people of Venosa feel close to".
With 350 wine-growing members, 800 hectares of vineyards, a yield of 50 thousand quintals of grapes (90% Aglianico) and 35 thousand hectoliters of wine, Cantina di Venosa is one of the most important cooperative companies in the south and among the most awarded in various national and international wine competitions. The production amounts to a total of 2 million bottles - out of a potential of 5 million - plus 60% of bulk. There are 24 labels, mostly of Aglianico del Vulture, both Doc and Docg.
