Colli di Conegliano Refrontolo Passito

Wine tour area: Colli di Conegliano

Colli di Conegliano Refrontolo Passito DOCG is an Italian passito red wine produced with Marzemino grapes for a minimum of 95%. The production area, in the province of Treviso, is very limited, within the municipalities of Refrontolo, Pieve di Soligo and San Pietro di Feletto. After the late harvest, the grapes are left on the racks until Christmas week to obtain greater concentration. After vinification, it matures in small oak barrels with monthly decanting until a clear wine is obtained, ready to be bottled in early spring. Once bottled in 75cl bottles it must age for at least three months before being put on the market.
The final product is a lively dessert wine, or for conversation, sweet but not cloying, rightly tannic.
