Wine tourism in Trentino Alto Adige - Italy

Trentino Alto Adige is among the most popular destinations for mountain holidays in the name of nature, sport, wellness, but also for food and wine tourism.

The region is characterized by a double gastronomic tradition: that of Trentino and that of South Tyrol. Cheeses such as Puzzone di Moena, the typical apples of Val di Non, Speck Alto Adige and grappa are some of the many products to be tasted during one of the numerous food and wine events that are repeated every year or during a stay in the Dolomites.
Each season offers a calendar of local excellences to be enjoyed with events related to mountain pasture, grape harvest and apple picking. The region offers itineraries for all tastes that develop between lakes, valleys and villages, stopping off in fascinating castles or in the characteristic mountain huts.

The region is a producer of fine wines and mountain bubbles, among which we cannot help but mention the Trento Doc, for Trentino, and Gewürztraminer and Pinot noir, for Alto Adige. There are three indigenous grapes of Trentino: Nosiola, Marzemino and Teroldego. Thanks to the large temperature range typical of mountain areas, South Tyrol and Trentino are particularly suitable for the cultivation of Pinot Noir.
