Wine tourism in Friuli Venezia Giulia - Italy

The Friuli Venezia Giulia region is characterized by a varied territory: it starts from a mountainous area that turns into a hilly one, and then becomes a plain overlooking the sea. The characteristic territory is one of the elements that influence local viticulture, as well as a climate made unique by the two winds that converge: the Bora and the Scirocco.

In Friuli there are 8 Doc and Docg areas where high quality wines are produced. Famous among food and wine tourism enthusiasts are the Colli Orientali del Friuli and the Collio. The local gastronomy and typical products of excellence such as Prosciutto di San Daniele and Montasio Dop enrich the offer that can be enjoyed by wine tourists who choose this region for their itineraries.

The numerous events organized during the year and which aim to promote local wines and traditional gastronomy offer an additional attraction for a fully satisfying food and wine experience.
