Urbania

Urbania

Known until the 1600s with the name of Calsteldurante, Urbania, which owes its name to Pope Urban VIII and has been a place known for its particular position in the valley of the Metauro river since ancient times, today it is no longer just a site of historical interest. and architectural with its Catterale and its churches, and for the very particular Cemetery of the Mummies, but it presents itself with a modern tourist offer suitable for the most varied interests.

They range from ceramic courses, which made Calsteldurante famous, to excursions on foot or by bicycle in the hills surrounding Urbania, from cooking courses to sport fishing, from horseback riding, to experiences in educational farms, up to a visit to the Barco Ducale, the Mummies Cemetery and the many beauties that make this village unique and precious.

To provide all useful information for tourism in Urbania, the portal VsitUrbania.com was created on the initiative of the Tourism and Communication Department.

Among the traditional festivals we remember in the first days of January the National Befana Day which transforms Urbania into the City of the Befana, giving the keys to the town to the grandmother herself.
