Soave (VR)

Soave (VR)

Soave is a splendid walled city that rises between the Venetian cities of Vicenza and Verona, in an area strongly suited to the cultivation of vines, so much so that it gives its name to the homonymous DOC. Soave DOC is one of the most recognized white wines, even abroad, certainly among the wines of Veneto and northern Italy, but also in the context of the national panorama.

A walk in the historic center within the walls is a must. From here you can walk up to the entrance of the Scaligero castle, which can be visited. Returning to the center you cannot give up an aperitif in one of the wine bars present, where you can taste one of the wines created from one of the many crus in which the vineyard area of the hills surrounding the village has been divided. Do not miss the Recioto di Soave DOCG, sweet passito wine ideal to accompany dry biscuits.

Wine is also the protagonist of various festivals, of grapes and wine, which take place throughout the year, especially during spring and in September.

For those who love walking in nature to enjoy splendid landscapes, the surroundings of Soave are just as beautiful as the walled village. Moving a few kilometers from the village, to be traveled by car, towards Cazzano di Tramigna, the route, with some variations, is highly recommended, leading to the top of the hilly ridge that separates this valley from the Val d'Illasi, which can be admired from the top. , where the Trabucchi farm is located, and where you can walk among the olive and cherry trees up to the castle of Illasi.
