Olivastro millenario di Luras

Olivastro millenario di Luras

In Sardinia there is the oldest tree in Italy: the millennial olive tree, located in the municipality of Luras (SS), in the locality of Santu Baltolu di Carana and not far from Lake Liscia. The majestic tree is approximately 4,000 years old. With a circumference of 12 meters it is among the oldest trees in Europe. We have mentioned the oldest of all, but the Santo Baltolu locality holds a series of millenary olive trees with an estimated age between 2000 and 4000 years. A stop in this suggestive place is really worth it to take the opportunity to admire real natural monuments.
