Leonessa is a pretty mountain village in the province of Rieti with an urban layout of medieval origin. Here you will find intact monuments of great interest. This is the case of the Farnesiana Fountain, dating back to the 16th century, which embellishes the square of April 7, 1944 in correspondence with the Palazzo Comunale; and the ancient churches of San Pietro and San Franceso, chests of precious works of art. Lying at a height of one thousand meters, in a large basin within the Apennines on the border between Lazio, Umbria and Abruzzo, Leonessa offers lovers of outdoor trips the opportunity to make wonderful excursions in the Terminillo complex. In Leonessa there are the best potato producers, the historic companies or the backbone of the now famous "Potato Festival", scheduled every year in October.
