Castello di Stefanago

Castello di Stefanago

The Castle of Stefanago, once belonging to the feud of Fortunago, is located in Castello di Stefanago, in the municipality of Borgo Priolo, in the province of Pavia, in the Olterpò Pavese area. The Castle (11th-14th century) is located in the center of an estate where the cellars for the production and refinement of the wines of the "Castello di Stefanago" organic winery are located.

The estate is located on the Oltrepò Pavese hills, between 320 and 470 meters above sea level, and the cellar is normally open on Sundays for visits, tastings and purchases.

For those wishing to organize an excursion on foot among these splendid hills to get to the Castle of Stefanago, it is possible to choose the village of San Ponzo as a starting point, go up the hill where the sixteenth-century church of San Giorgio a Fortunago is located, and then go back down to the valley along the path of the old ramparts and take an easy path (approx. 2 km) towards the castle of Stefanago,
