The Castle of Nazzano is a fortification located in the municipality of Rivanazzano Terme, in the province of Pavia, in Oltrepò Pavese. The building is located at 350 m a.s.l. on the hill overlooking the village of Nazzano. The castle was completely restored in 1905 with the neo-castellan taste of the time, modifying many details and regularizing the masonry. It is still owned by the Roverato marquises today
The medieval village of Nazzano due to its historical interest has determined a particular protection of the landscape, guaranteeing the conservation of numerous specimens of secular trees, in particular oaks, a species symbol of the Oltrepò wood. In the company of local guides you will discover the natural characteristics of this pristine environment where the presence of wild animals is also abundant.
In addition to the Castle, noteworthy is the hamlet, still almost entirely in stone, at the top of which is Villa San Pietro, privately owned by the Gambaro family, which houses a wonderful Italian garden.
