Casertavecchia is a medieval village that rises on the slopes of the Tifatini mountains at 401 meters above sea level. and that in medieval times constituted the center of Caserta. Since 1960 it has been included among the Italian national monuments. It is about 10km from the city of Caserta and its history passes through the Lombard dominions first and then the Norman ones, when the town had its moment of maximum splendor, with the construction of the current cathedral, consecrated to the cult of San Michele Arcangelo.

The tourist interest for Casertavecchia is linked to the Cathedral, as well as to the bell tower, and to the remains of the castle and to the atmosphere that the streets of the village can give. From many points of Casertavecchia you can enjoy a remarkable panorama and the village is also welcoming for the numerous places to eat and spend a pleasant evening.
