Bosa is located in the province of Oristano, on the west coast of north-central Sardinia. Bosa has been included in the circuit of "The most beautiful villages in Italy". During the Aragonese dominion, it obtained the rank of royal city.
The colored facades of the houses of the historic village dominated by the castle of Serravalle create a "postcard" glance. But there are so many historic buildings in Bosa. Among these is the complex of the old tanneries, built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries along the left bank of the Temo, near the Ponte Vecchio, which became the largest tanning center in Sardinia. Completely abandoned in 1962, the old tanneries have been classified as a national monument, as a rare testimony of industrial architecture within an urban context that helps to characterize. The structures, therefore, have been subjected to protection measures that have allowed their recovery and enhancement after the deterioration following their abandonment.
Bosa hosts the "Grande Festa del Vino" event in May, where it is possible to meet the best of Sardinia's wine production.
