Bassano del Grappa (VI)

Bassano del Grappa (VI)

Bassano del Grappa is located on the slopes of Mount Grappa in the province of Vicenza, and is crossed by the Brenta river. With its Ponte Vecchio, the palaces and squares of the historic center, and the bars and restaurants along the Brenta, Bassano is a town with multiple attractions.

Things to see and do in Bassano del Grappa

Do not miss a walk through the streets of the center, with Piazza Libertà and Piazza Garibaldi, overlooked by shops and bars, as well as the Civic Museum, which houses interesting collections and frequent temporary exhibitions.

Going down towards the banks of the river you will find one of the main symbols of the Venetian city, namely the Ponte Vecchio or Ponte degli Alpini or Ponte di Bassano. Here it is a must to stop at the grappery of the oldest distillery in Italy: the Bortolo Nardini, present at the bridge since 1779.

Bassano del Grappa also boasts several fruit and vegetable excellences, such as the white asparagus of Bassano del Grappa, or the white variegated radicchio of Bassano, but also the PGI Marostica cherry from the nearby walled city.
