The Polenta Festival of San Costanzo is the oldest festival in the Marche region, a traditional event in the province of Pesaro. The festival takes place in March and marks the end of the winter period. Polenta is the main focus of the event and is prepared on Sunday afternoons in the traditional cooking pots placed beneath the bell tower of the village. The recipe is very ancient, carefully guarded, and passed down through generations.
