Popular tradition has it that the last days of January, the coldest period of the year, known as the days of the blackbird, were faced together, to make a common front, united, and to make them less difficult to overcome. The farmers used to protect their fields and crops from the cold with ancient rituals and songs around the fire, and everything also became a moment of celebration.
Reconnecting to these old beliefs and traditions, on the last three days of January, historical re-enactments are organized in Crotta d'Adda and the tasty dishes of the past are enjoyed. In the previous days, piles of wood are made, which will then be lit. People gather around the bonfires, where the "vecia" is burned, which takes away the evils of the year just ended, as a good omen for the one that has just begun. All this, accompanied by songs and tasting of typical products
