In September, Borgo Val di Taro once again opens its doors for the Borgotaro Mushroom Fair, the most anticipated event of the year in this town in the province of Parma. And it's no wonder, since the mushrooms that grow spontaneously in the Apennine forests surrounding the area are considered superior—for their organoleptic, olfactory, and aromatic qualities—compared to other porcini mushrooms of the same species from other regions, both in Italy and abroad.
