The Carnevale de li Pannicià takes its name from an ancient epithet with which the inhabitants of Amandola called those who dedicated themselves to the dyeing of fabrics (cloths) in the Middle Ages. It is a set of initiatives, which culminate in particular with two appointments: the parade, through the streets of the city, of the allegorical floats of the masked groups (essentially made by school classes) and of the caricatures.
The event is organized as usual by the Municipality of Amandola, by the Pro Loco and for this year the folk group La Cucuma has also joined.
Although the Amandolese Carnival in recent years has been mainly characterized by the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups and by the King Carnival bonfire, in the current edition we wanted to return to a further very old tradition and that is that of dancing evenings. Evenings that in the 1950s took place at the jewel of the Teatro la Fenice and which were later transferred to the Cinema Europa.
